Research Summary
My research focuses on understanding thermal and electrical transport in nanostructure thermoelectric (TE) materials through powerful experimental methods and characterizing tools. This includes:
• Further development of AFM, Conductive-AFM (C-AFM) and nanoindentation tools for the investigation of nanostructure thermoelectric materials such as Bi2Te3.
• Correlating the microstructure of nanostructured materials obtained by means of SEM and TEM to the transport and mechanical properties of a nanostructured TE material with the method of manufacture.
The ultimate goal is a clearer picture of interfacial transport combined with predictive models for designing the next generation of TE materials.
