Short Bio

After completing his BSc. Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft, where he specialized in materials engineering during his minor and followed some graduate courses at Novel Aerospace Materials, he started his MSc. at Masdar Institute, where he joined the LENS.

Research

Imagine that your car never gets dusty, you don’t need to clean your windows, the screen on your phone doesn’t get scratches and no ice will form on the roads or cars. This could possibly all be done using functionalized coatings and surfaces, which exhibit self-cleaning, anti-icing, self-healing and many more properties. Currently Daans main focus is on anti-icing coatings.
